She’s prepared for her wedding all her life … but she forgot a few things.

This novella is not really a romantic, I think that the series have started to focus more on religion/God than the romance itself, which is a shame because the authors have forgotten to develop the relationships and feelings.
In a May Bride, Moseley focused on the theme of religious extremist that can lead to sorrow and bitterness and tear a family apart.

I found that in a series of 12 novella, not enjoying one is normal. Actually I am surprised that I haven't only given one star so far given that this is series of Christian novellas. However, this one was a big nono :(

The beginning started off a little shaky but I understood the conflict and it seemed like a fairly good one... until the author lost track of what she wanted to tell.
Susanna was for 80% of the time weak because the author wanted her to be like that for plot convenience, Nathaniel was cliche and a lousy king to be pretty honest, even the citizens of Brighton lacked in personality.

A GIRL WALKS INTO A WEDDING: Your Fantasy, Your Rules

Title: A GIRL WALKS INTO A WEDDING: Your Fantasy, Your Rules

Genre: Erotica

By Helena S. Paige

Release Date:  5/27/2014

The wedding has just begun and every decision you make can leave you satisfied... or craving more in this funny and sexy novel in which you make the rules…
YOU are invited to a wedding. As you try on what must be the ugliest bridesmaid dress (and that is saying a lot) you realize so much can go wrong with this event. Your best friend needs to know NOW if you are bringing a date. So what is a girl to do? Do you bring the sexy guy you have only gone on one date with, or do you brave it and go alone?
In this novel, you make the decisions. Will your dream date turn out to be a dud? Will the best man find a way under your ugly dress? Will the bachelorette party end with a bang or a fizzle? Will the wedding even happen at all? Will your decision leave you pleasantly satisfied or disappointed and yearning for more? All of these experiences are awaiting you at the beautiful country estate. Now all you must do is choose…

It's your fantasy. Your rules.
The choice is all yours. . . .
Your best friend is getting married and she's asked you to be a bridesmaid. You have so many decisions to make. . . .

Do you ask the gorgeous but mysterious man you just met to come as your date?
Or do you go solo?

Once the wedding weekend gets under way, will you ditch your date? Get down and dirty with the hot DJ? Dodge the disreputable best man?

Or perhaps the rugged pilot you meet in the bar will open up unexpected erotic opportunities—and who knew the maid of (dis)honor had such a sultry streak?
You also have to navigate through the bachelorette party, the bride's wedding jitters, the dress from hell, and more. Perhaps the most tempting option is to flee the entire affair with a tall, dark stranger . . . or maybe an old friend who could surprise you with a sizzling encounter.

You make the decisions—a wild ride is guaranteed.

Here’s a brief excerpt—it’s hard to give you more, because of the interactive nature of the text. However, there is an app available for 5 excerpts from the book that simulate the choose your own experience. I’d love it people could post about it, too:

Dear Reader,

This isn’t a regular novel with a set beginning, middle and end. This is your story, and you’re in charge. Of your life, your sexuality, your fantasies.

So here’s how it works: at the end of every scene, you’ll be given a choice, with instructions to turn to the page that corresponds with your selection. It’s simple: YOU pick what you want to do, where you want to go, who you want to be with. There are no right or wrong decisions. Just keep turning or clicking through to the pages, and you’re guaranteed a wild ride that you shape and control.

Wondering “what if”? Want to try something different? Unlike in life, here you can press the “reset” button. Just click or flip back the pages to the previous fork in the road, pick something different, and head out on a new adventure.

Because remember: it’s your fantasy, your rules.

All women know that bridesmaids’ dresses are a secret plot of the devil. No matter how much your best friend, sister or cousin promises she will not dress you up as The Bride of Frankenstein on Disco Night, odds are you’ll be walking down the aisle swathed in the kind of fabric used to upholster sofas, in the one color designed to make you look jaundiced.
But you’re not feeling any pre-bridesmaid’s dress fitting panic today. Jane is your oldest friend in the world, and you know she’d never expect you to wear a monstrosity. You’ve seen pictures of what she has in mind for you – a tasteful slip-dress in a harmless dark-blue satin.
‘Champagne?’ a shop assistant asks, holding out a tray of glasses, the bubbles racing to pop out of the top of each glass. ‘Yes please,’ says Cee Cee, Jane’s older sister and maid of honor, appearing beside you and taking a glass. Cee Cee adores weddings – in fact, as a wedding
planner, she makes a living out of them. You’re a little worried she might be infecting Jane with too much bridezilla hysteria and over-the-topness – most of the events she presides over make the last royal wedding look like an elopement followed by a piss-up in the local pub – but you have to admit, she’s a great organizer.
‘Have you seen Jane’s dress?’ you ask, sinking into one of the luxurious armchairs set in front of a wall of mirrors and a little podium, designed for optimum dress viewing. ‘Not yet! But I can’t wait,’ Cee Cee says, settling down in the chair next to yours, eyes shining. ‘And you will just die when Jane tells you about my idea for the bridesmaids’ dresses!’
That sounds rather alarming. You’re about to ask for details, but then Jane steps out of the dressing room, closely followed by a mountain of fabric, the bridal shop proprietor fussing over the train of the dress.
‘Oh my God, Jane!’ you say.

Kristen Painter

Unbreakable excerpt

The moment I lay my eyes on her, I know….I know she is my one. Her expressive eyes captivate my own, imprisoning my thoughts. Her angelic face shines like a beacon calling to me, and my heart is helpless to stop it. It answers its call only to be denied, swiftly. I never thought I’d experience the feeling most pussy men feel of ‘their world stopping’ when they see their soul mate, or whatever the hell they call it. My world definitely stopped…it stopped and fucking shattered to pieces since there is no way in hell it would ever happen because she’s taken. Not by just anyone…she’s with my best friend. What does that make me? I’ve been asking myself that since she got here. So, I suck it up and remain quiet, I stay away from her and try to blend in, until Dylan calls me.
“Jake, come here! I’d like you to meet Trish.” Dylan yells. There is no way I can avoid this.
I give Dylan a chin nod. “Hey, man. What’s up?”
“Jake, this is my precious Trish. Honey, my best friend Jake.”
She’s even more breath taking up close. She’s so petite with her long, silky, brown hair and expressive eyes that seem to see through me. Her flawless, delicate skin seems to glow against Dylan’s tanned arms, her kissable lips stretch into a magnificent smile that lights up my world and breaks my world, all at the same time.
“Hi, Trish.” I’m dying to hug her, but seeing my best friend’s smiling face full of pride stops me. I extend my hand, regretfully, settling for a hand shake.
Dylan releases her, and as she grabs my hand, the moment her skin touches mine, heat travels from my fingertips straight to my heart and shoots its way fast and hard to my dick. I can’t control myself; I pull her in for a hug. Against all logical reason, and against all odds, four words leave my mouth.
I whisper in her ear. “You are so beautiful.”
She rewards me with yet another heart stopping smile. I can’t look away, even when she does. She’s back in Dylan’s arms, and my heart aches. Brian nudges me and signals for me to go around back. We both excuse ourselves, and for the first time since Trish got here, I’m able to breathe properly.
Brian doesn’t waste time and confronts me right away. Obviously, he wants to nip this in the bud.
“What was that about, Jake?” His accusatory tone puts me in a defensive mode.
“What’s what?” I act as though I don’t know what he’s talking about. Fear slowly works its way up my body, straight to my stupid brain. If Brian noticed, did anyone else?
“Don’t mess with me. I saw the look you gave Trish. Don’t, Jake. Do not cross that line.” His eyes not leaving mine, his tone low interlaced with a warning.
I scrub my face with my hand. “Don’t you think I know? It’s just a stupid crush, alright? I’m sure a good fuck would fix it.”
I start laughing, while looking at Brian. I need to deflect this situation ASAP.
“You shouldn’t really talk, dude. You’ve been eyeing my sister, and not once have I stopped you, asshole!”
Brian told me a couple of months ago he wanted to date my sister, but he refused to make the move, only because he doesn’t want to mess with our friendship. He respects my dad and me, too much. Bullshit excuse if I’ve ever heard one. Plus, he said, that she’s older and might not want to have a relationship with a younger guy.
“Don’t go there, Jake. I told you how I feel about her, and why I refuse to make a move, besides she’s not with anyone. Trish is with Dylan. Do I need to remind you, he’s your best friend?” He forcefully asks, pointing his finger at me.
With my hands on my waist, I look at him, seriousness blanketing my face.
“Brian, what do you think I’ll do? I’m not going to deny I feel a different pull every time I look into her eyes…I can’t describe it. It’s as if I’m drawn to her, a force pulling me to her,” I start shaking my head. “But, I know my place, Brian. You know me, man. I won’t hurt D like that.”
He sighs. “I know, Jake. It’s just when I saw you look at her, I’ve never seen you look at anyone like that. It’s as if everything stopped. You couldn’t even tear your eyes away from her. Just pray Dylan didn’t notice it.”
As we walk back, my eyes search around, looking for her. She’s seated, sandwiched between Roxy and Tami. I could tell they love her, already. I notice Cody eyeing Roxy, and as I turn toward Brian, he too is looking at Tami, the same way Cody is looking at Roxy. Damn, all three of us are looking at three girls who can never be ours. I search for Dylan, but he isn’t around. Why would he not be attached to Trish baffles my mind. If I were him, I would be…like white on rice.
As my eyes wander back to Trish, I promise myself I will be a friend to her, no matter what. There’s no way I could not be around her. I am fucking doomed. How could I forget such a face, but most importantly, how could I deny the pull I feel for her…how can I stop it…control it? I don’t think I could break it, even if I tried….it just simply is… unbreakable.

Unbreakable by Gigi Aceves

Jake Oliver,
a typical guy, never expected to fall in love with his best friend’s girl. Jake
learned to love her from a far, he watched her constantly and supported her

Trish Wilson
thought she found the love of her life in Dylan, until tragedy struck and fate
decided for her when Dylan died in Afghanistan. Will she survive and get over
her fear to love again? Will she find her one? Will her heart ever truly heal?

The tragedy
that caused them great sadness also brought them together. Jake’s love for
Trish gave her the strength to overcome her fear to love again, while Trish’s
love pushed Jake past his guilt. However, when your soul mate’s life is at
stake, will they fold in fear or stand their ground? Will they fight to live or
prepare to give up? Will they allow fear to break them or will they let love
make them UNBREAKABLE.

“Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.

And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12

Add to your TBR List:

“Trish, aren’t you going to sit down?  Sorry, you can’t get close to our boy, here,” Cody goads me, slapping Jake’s shoulder.

“That’s okay, Cody. I don’t have to be close to him to get a hard reaction.”  Putting emphasis on ‘hard’ as I smirk at him.

Without warning, the three boys take their shirts off, and I just about pass out. Well, Tami and Roxy included.  I blank out for a while, not knowing what to do next.
Damn, I didn’t think of this.  Jake is now shirtless in front of me, my traitorous eyes instantly roam to his chest, hard abs, broad shoulders and back to his chest.  Holy crap!

“Cat got your tongues, ladies?” Cody chuckles.

Oh no, no cat’s got my tongue! I’m thinking more like my warm tongue wrapping around his hard pulsing dick! Shit!
I hate giving head, but my crazed-self strikes again! Best idea…ever!

Jake never makes eye contact, in fact, he’s busy eating his food and talking to
Brian about some shit I can’t even understand, because at the moment, my mind
is not working properly.  Roxy gives me that you-better-do-something look, and that’s all it takes for me to go into action mode.

Roxy stands up and tells me to sit down right in front of Jake, while she takes the
seat next to me. This is perfect for what I have in mind.  I show Roxy the banana I’m holding under the table, and she gives me a small nod and smile.
I start peeling the banana, even before she gives me my signal to start Operation
.  Right on cue, she gives me the opening I need.

“Trish, you’re not going to eat?” She asks innocently.

I don’t feel too well,” I say.

Jake looks at me with concern in his eyes, and what perfect timing. He falls for it, hook, line and sucker!
I put the banana very slowly in my mouth, pushing it as far as I could and
pulling it out ever so slowly, biting the tip off.  I’m looking at Jake the whole time; his
reaction is priceless. It takes everything in me, not to laugh.  Even the boys are silent; Cody is speechless
for a change.  Three point shot right

“What’s wrong boys, cat got your tongues?” Roxy hollers.

“Trish, put the banana down!” Jake exclaims.

“I want to eat it! What’s wrong with you? Do you want it?” I ask arching my brow.

“Jake, pull your pants down, man! She’s playing dirty! Show her the power drill!” Cody says, trying to coax Jake.

He ignores Cody, since he and I are in a stare down duel, his slightly narrowed eyes locks on mine and his jaw is twitching.  I now have in front of me, a very frustrated Jake, who in my estimation is ready to blow a gasket anytime.

I’m a middle child, and no, I don’t suffer from the middle
child syndrome. According to my parents, I’m the craziest, and I think, my
husband and children agree with them.

Besides the births of my two children, my husband’s
successful transplant is one of the most memorable moments of my crazy life!
After dealing with two bouts of cancer, my husband served as an inspiration to
me and my children. I’m privileged to be married and go on this crazy ride, we
call life, with a man who doesn’t know the meaning of giving up.

I’m known as The Crazy Cat Lady, in the Wanted World. Am I
crazy? Well, the jury is still out on that one, but I’d like to think I can
make one person smile with my craziness.

The Mistaken #1

66cbe-blogtourbannerThe Mistaken
Nancy S. Thompson
409 pages
Published October 18th 2012 by Sapphire Star Publishing

Some books are weird, Nancy Thompson “The Mistaken” was one of those books that by the end of it I was neither sure that this was a romance or a thriller. However as much as the genres were blurred there were some good things where you could catch a glimpse of Thompson’s talent and other parts that needed work.
Nick was the best thing that happened to this book. His character was balanced in a spiral of chaos and ruin. Whenever he appeared accidents happened, lives were destroyed and changed and the smell of death was near. You could sympathize with him even knowing that he was a death magnet, but he had personality. And he was important. It would be his mess that would have affected other people and it is amazing to see how a character even offset influences the rest.
The plot had some action scenes that were well written and you could feel the vibe, this was not one of those books where you know what is going to happen next so you keep on your toes in order to see what is going to happen.

Another book from A year of wedding series and I have realised that this is probably one of the best Christian series of novels. Not that I have read a lot of them. Mostly I find Christian romance dull and people relying too much on God, but this series really gets to the general public, whether you are Christian or not.
Generally because it conveys different messages and the main one is not: have faith. The key message in An April bride is: everything will be all right if you trust the other person and you don’t give up on him/her. Marshall is a great male character, even going through issues after an incident in Afghanistan, he comes home with memory loss and does everything to make it up to his bride… that he really can’t remember. He is a sweet man and he can behave even when Stella is being a drama queen.
Now Stella... She was a character that I couldn’t really understand at the beginning. She is obsessed with the wedding and comes on as annoying (she is), but let’s face it: she only had one boyfriend: Marshall. She is innocent, not very experienced in life and this wedding was her escape from Marshall’s attack. In the end, I could understand why she behaved like that. Not all female characters need to be courageous and bold (just don’t be annoying). Also Marshall’s attitude towards her excessive behaviour was cute as hell (pardon mi French), it is really nice to see a male character caring and devoting. I look forward to read more of this series.

War changes everything . . . even their love.
Bride-to-be Stella Carson can’t wait to marry her longtime sweetheart Marshall Henderson. But Marshall has been away serving his country and after suffering a head wound and being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress syndrome, he has distanced himself from Stella by asking her not to visit him in a Washington, D.C. hospital.
Marshall returns to Louisiana just four weeks before the wedding, but as the big day draws near, Stella wonders if the man she’s loved for most of her life still wants to marry her.

I don’t mind long descriptions. I also don’t like to say “God this book was terrible.” There is only one thing in this book and that is the passion that the writer has for Venice. This is an odd way to start a review, but it is true. I adore descriptions of places and things that make me feel like I am there, right where the character is. Also I love if the setting and the plot combine. And I really REALLY wanted to love the book - look at the cover, it is gorgeous! Lovely! The synopsis as you can see promises a LOT.

However “The echoes of love” failed with too many things, things that I consider too serious to not be noticed in a review. You see it was not just the atrocious length of the descriptions. I understand that in order to provide a glimpse of a city you will want to take your time, but when you take one page to describe a room another to describe what type of clothes the character wears and the shampoo she is using and why, I figure it is not just wanting the people to know about things, it was to hide that there was no plot. Either that or we were all tricked and this was planned to be a travelling guide and suddenly the author changed her mind and decided that this would be a novel... Every 10 pages of eternal descriptions, you would find a very brief scene with either a dialogue OR a scene where the protagonist has flashbacks of her clichéd past.

Compared to the previous book, the bride from January, Allie is not such a great protagonists. She is conflicted and sure that she will fulfil the curse from her family just because all women had failed marriages in her family. In this one you could feel the influence of Christian messages. Nevertheless I wish Allie would have been different, more bold and courageous! She was the one creating her own problems with almost no need. Like Merida said in Brave: there are those who say fate is something beyond our command. That destiny is not our own, but I know better. Our fate lives within us, you only have to be brave enough to see it.

Happily ever after guaranteed. Allie left the love of her life at the altar—to save him from a lifetime of heartbreak. When a Valentine’s Day wedding brings them back together, she struggles against her family’s destructive history. Can Allie ever realize that a marriage is so much more than a wedding dress? History repeats itself when Allie Andrews escapes the church on her wedding day—in the same dress passed down for generations and worn by all the women in her family—women with a long history of failed marriages. Allie loves Marcus, but fears she’s destined to repeat her family’s mistakes. She can’t bear to hurt Marcus worse. Marcus Hall never stopped loving Allie and can only think of one reason she left him at the altar—him. When the two are thrown together for his sister’s Valentine’s Day wedding, he discovers the truth and realizes their story might be far from over. Can Allie shuck expectation and discover who she is as a bride and in the Bride of Christ? And if she ever walks down the aisle, what dress will she wear?

Ahhh my favourite so far! Madeleine chemistry with Arthur is amazing. The plot conveyed by Raney gives us a good humour small novel with misunderstandings and lots of feelings. Arthur is a gentleman and Madeleine is an endearing female protagonist. The author managed to slowly build their romance in the few pages she had and, once again, without noticing the “Christian” part. I will be looking forward to read more books by Deborah Raney.

Who can work in a house that's overrun by contractors and carpenters? Not Madeleine Houser, a successful novelist who gladly accepts the help of her octogenarian friend, Ginny, to arrange for a temporary office in the charming bed and breakfast owned by Ginny's friend, Arthur. Maddie’s never met the innkeeper––but a friendship grows between them as Maddie and Arthur leave messages for each other each day. To Maddie’s alternate delight and chagrin, she seems to be falling for the inn’s owner––a man who's likely many years her senior––and who she’s never even met.

This novel was all cute and lovely!
A December bride is an endearing novella, perfect to be read during Christmas time. Seth is a male character that many female readers will appreciate for his dear personality. He protects her without overwhelming her and treats her right. That’s right, you can read a sweet novel where the protagonist is not an asshole and still enjoy it!
I then found out that these books were Christian romances and I even liked it more! Although I am not a religious person, I like when a book conveys religious messages without being too aggressive.

What started as a whim turned into an accidental - and very public - engagement. Can Layla and Seth keep up the facade in Chapel Springs this holiday season - for the sake of her career . . . and his heart?

Under normal circumstances, Seth Murphy, the best friend of Layla O'Reilly's ex-fiance would be the last person she'd marry. But the news of their upcoming (and phony) nuptials convinces a big client that Layla may be high-society enough to work for his agency, a coup that would put her fledgling home-staging business on the map. Seth has secretly loved Layla for years, even when she was dating his best friend. Maybe she'll never forgive him for the way he hurt her back then, but he has to try. And Layla is willing to keep up their engagement farce until she's landed her client. For Layla, it's the chance to save her career. But for Seth, it's his last chance to win her heart.
